Becoming Unreal performed by Xuan Ye.

Latitude 53 is excited to present Chloë Lum & Yannick Desranleau's What Do Stones Smell Like in the Forest? on view from September 6 - October 26 in the main gallery spaces.

Conceived as a follow-up to the artists' previous project Is It the Sun Or the Asphalt All I See Is Bright Black, What Do Stones Smell Like was first presented in the FOFA Gallery at Concordia University in Montréal. Featuring a dual channel video installation with quadrophonic sound, the exhibition tackles themes of invisible disability as well as the transformative power that objects have on the senses.

Join us on Thursday, September 5 at 7pm for the opening reception of What Do Stones Smell Like in the Forest?. The scheduled performance with artist Xuan Ye has been cancelled, however we are working on rescheduling the performance for Saturday, and will provide updates shortly. However, both Chloë Lum & Yannick Desranleau will be present for the opening, so please join us this evening from 7-10pm to celebrate the opening with the artists.
