Next 50 Years artists Breanna Barrington and Merlin Uwalaka, invite you to a FREE poetry and composting workshop at Latitude 53 on Wednesday, November 8 from 6-8 pm MST!
Learn about indoor composting with worms! Meditate on a self-arranged bouquet of flowers, and feed your thoughts, poems, hopes, and musings to the earth. Bring a poem and share it with the group, or just come and listen.
For our last "Pocket of Eden", we explore how to make offerings to nature on a molecular level. When we become aware of the collaboration between us and the earth, how do we actively honour the energy of reciprocity and intentional exchange? How do we cultivate interdependence?
When we feed the earth, she supports us.
The event will be a chance for people to share poetry, musings and stories related to nature, participants will have the opportunity to compost their written words in a bin of worms which the soil will later be fed to a tree in the river valley. Worms will be available to anyone who would like to start their own vermicompost bin.
*Please note that Latitude 53's new space is still being worked on and unfortunately the facilities are not fully accessible at this time—there are steps up leading to the bathroom. Let us know if there are ways we can help to mitigate this to make this event work for you.
