This workshop is an invitation for you to tell us what you carry and hold in your pocket of Eden, while weaving a unique story or prayer by spending  a moment of your time creating by beading.

When we spend time in nature, we find beauty and resonance.  Sometimes, we are so inspired that we feel the need to take it with us, in our pocket. We carry elements of nature that resonates with us. This resonance is created because of colors, beauty, mystery, texture, value, intention, what they mean to us, and our experience. This way we carry the places we have been, the stories we shared and experiences with us.

Humans have carried nature with us through creating beaded jewelry and charms. The word bead comes from the Anglo-Saxon words bidden (to pray) and bede (prayer.)   

We invite you to bring this level of intention to your creative practise. The materials  (piece of wood, pearl, gemstone, glass we bead have stories. We  find these stories and we carry them with us in our pockets, on our wrist, on our necks, and they continue to journey with us.

What is in your pocket? We ask each participant to bring something with them in their pockets. A charm, a bead, a leaf, a flower. If you picked this up on a walk-in nature, foraging and discovering, even better. We will be providing additional resources twines, upcycled beads and notions, ropes, ribbons, and we hope that you show up with  a desire to play. We will provide details (Components, nature, source, history, symbolism) of about the different materials we will be offering.
