Alyson Davies is a visual artist living in amiskwaciwâskahikan, Treaty 6 Territory. Davies was born into a rural, artistic family of talented trades and craftspeople. In the studio Davies paints moments of connection into the natural world using personal histories and autobiographic storytelling.The artist’s work has been shown across Canada and the United States. As part of the collective Tennis Club she was featured in Canadian Art Magazine in 2016. Davies has been an artist in residence at Salem Art Works (Salem, NY), Elsewhere Studios (Paonia, CO), and McLuhan House (Edmonton, AB). In the summer of 2018 Davies canoed the Yukon River as a participant in the Canadian Wilderness Artist Residency. Davies holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Fine Arts at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
