My name is Anica Neiman, I’m an emerging, visual artist from Edmonton Alberta. Currently I’m completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the U of A. My practice primarily focuses on painting and printmaking, and in the past year I have been creating a body of work that further explores anxieties around intimacy and desire. Formally in my work, and through the grotesque, I’ve been navigating the impacts trauma can have on perception and behavior. My research often includes readings about psychology, the abject and different genres of horror.
