Halie Finney designed Latitude 53's new membership pins, which we were excited to launch as part of Schmoozy 2020!⁠

This pin was inspired by the rabbits and hares that live throughout this city that so many Edmontonians love. The nostalgic colours and the sun/moon shape reference old small business logos from the 80s that she would see on her grandpa’s pins.⁠

Halie Finney is an emerging Metis artist currently based in Edmonton, Alberta. Born and raised in the Lesser Slave Lake region of Alberta, Finney holds a strong connection to the area. She understands her Metis heritage through memories told to her by generations of her family who still reside there and through the characteristics of her home's landscape and lifestyle. Finney's solo exhibition Up in Smoke and Out to Dry was shown at Latitude 53 in 2019.
