Benjamin Oswald received his MFA at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and was a recipient of the Robert Weghsteen Memorial Award in ceramics. His practice explores themes such as liminality, resonance, and void and uses industrial processes and minimalist aesthetics to create vessels and sculpture. His homage to a more reductive and design-based process speaks to his desire to tease out underlying structures and see them multiplied or reworked to produce rhythms, contrasts, or acts of excavation. Oswald has won awards both provincially and internationally for his artwork and works in Treaty 6 Territory - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
