Maddison (Maddie) Post is a 22-year-old emerging artist residing ​in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta) on Treaty 6 ​territory. Maddie holds a Diploma of Studio Arts with ​Distinction from MacEwan University and a Bachelor of ​Fine Arts with Distinction from the University of ​Alberta. Maddie focuses her practice on storytelling ​and creating narratives based on research, personal ​connections and material exploration.

Maddie's practice ​takes form in exploration and play in both materiality and ​artistic process, becoming adept in a variety of different ​forms of craft. Creating ​sculptures, videos, drawings, paintings, soundscapes, and ​installations fuel Maddie's multi-media practice. Through honest and authentic research, ​Maddie uses her artistic practice to ​discuss themes of interest such as cultural heritage/diaspora, ​family history, and pop culture/current events, creating stories and narratives that have meaningful connections with viewers. Maddie's ​practice explores a consistent want to figure out the value of life, ​learning more about the world around her and before her ​through artistic creations. Maddie continues to contribute to ​art communities locally on Treaty 6. Serving as an artist mentor and active art community member, she is hoping to travel and take part in international art communities soon.
