Mika Haykowsky is an Albertan multimedia artist who received her MFA at the Art Academy in Trondheim, Norway earlier this year. During their master’s degree, they participated in many exhibitions, both curating and exhibiting works. Using the gallery space in an unconventional way through pop-up exhibitions, temporary libraries, sites for experimentation, and displays of research, are something Mika plans to carry into her future as an artist. Mika takes art beyond the museum to self-made stages, kinky spaces and the Internet. Performing with Chicks on Speed as part of the Trondheim International Biennale of Art and Technology in 2018 was a significant moment in her artistic career.
